What you are doing is usually a combination of milk, cream , vanilla, sugar and other ingredients. Add it all together in a blender and mix thoroughly. You may add some whipped cream in the blender , but you can save this for the topping (finishing the milkshake). In case you don't have a blender you can also use for example a jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Always determine in advance what the main flavor of your milkshake is going to be. A milkshake recipe can be adapted in response to the products you have in your refrigerator.
